In 2022, Meghan graduated from the studio’s first 200-hour teacher training program. She plans to teach zero classes but is grateful for the opportunity to participate and deepen her own practice.

emily cutter (she/her)

Originally from New Jersey, Emily found her home in Maryland and a deep sense of community in yoga here – a “home away from home.” Emily started practicing yoga in 2013, during a period in which she felt like she lost touch with herself. At the same time, she was experiencing hip misalignment which prevented her from being able to walk properly. After multiple physical therapy sessions and chiropractic care, she turned to yoga to treat her injuries. These experiences helped shape Emily’s belief that yoga is empowering, and she is forever a student. Her classes are meant to bring forward intention and awareness, connect movement with Ujjayi breath, and help students understand the foundations of yoga, all while inviting love into their practice! Emily’s hope is for every person to discover their own divine power and how to use it through the practices of selflessness, mindfulness, and self-empowerment. Outside of the studio, Emily works in the renewable energy industry to fight climate change and help others understand the importance of renewable resources!

elyse fiorito (she/her)

Elyse Fiorito started practicing yoga as a college student in New York as a way to relieve stress and build physical strength. In her years as a Latin teacher in Maryland Elyse has continued to turn to yoga for recentering during life’s unpredictable ups and downs. “Yoga has always had a healing quality to me, when I am practicing poses I am able to quiet the chatter in my mind and be fully present.”

After the birth of her first child, Elyse began to take her yoga off the mat by incorporating more mindfulness and affirmation practice in her daily routines, as well as with her young students in Baltimore County. “I try to express gratitude to myself and my body daily – for the amazing things it can do and for the parts of me that I love but often overlook. I encourage my middle school students to do the same.”

Elyse earned her 200 hour yoga teaching certificate in the fall of 2021. Her teaching style has been described as “supportive” and “strong”.

stephanie gregory (she/her)

Stephanie started practicing yoga in 2015 and immediately fell in love with the mind-body connection she gained on the mat. As a middle school math and science teacher, Stephanie often finds ways to incorporate yoga philosophy and mindfulness into her daily life. She joined the LES community during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, where yoga became not only a way to manage stress and anxiety, but also a way of life.

Stephanie completed her 200-hour training with Erin Leach in March 2023 and is also a certified children’s yoga teacher. She is passionate about sharing the transformative power of yoga with others and strives to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for yogis of all levels. Whether you are brand new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, Stephanie’s goal is to help you find greater balance, strength, and peace both on and off the mat.

In her spare time Stephanie enjoys live music, camping with her family, spending time at the beach, and reading.

lauren glendon (she/her)

Lauren has been practicing yoga since her youth. In 2001, she began practicing with some Rodney Yee VHS tapes & then a private instructor for years. That experience planted the seed that she would, one day, follow her dream of teaching yoga. For many years after that she focused on her home practice. It was when Peace Yoga opened that she found her “yoga home”. Lauren is a Peace Yoga graduate, completing her 200 hour certification in 2016. She is also a member of Yoga Alliance & an E-200RYT & YACEP. She loves introducing others to the beauty of yoga and its life changing attributes. Working with new & seasoned yogis is a blessing. Lauren enjoys learning something new every single day that can help her to bring new awareness and spread that knowledge to others.

Off her mat, she is an accounts receivable manager for a local family-owned greeting card company that distributes nationwide. Her love for cards & stationery keeps her creativity flowing. As an active wife, mom of four & Nana to 2 granddaughters, yoga has always been the constant that has kept her centered, grounded & calm through life’s most challenging times. joanna ingrao (she/her)

Joanna Ingrao (you can call her Jo!) first came to her yoga mat 10 years ago to exercise and to improve her balance. Even though she still struggled to stand on one foot, Jo really enjoyed the physical benefits of asana (the yoga poses). Upon learning about the philosophy of yoga, she understood how the practice of yoga as a whole enables true connection of the mind, body, and soul. Jo completed her 200 RYT training in January 2020 at Yoga Centric in Bel Air and specializes in Vinyasa style asana practice. By guiding you with honesty, breath, and a sense of humor, her goal is to create space for all to engage with and explore variations of the poses that work for their own body. Jo will be continuing her education in the upcoming years to be certified to teach trauma informed and chair yoga.

mikayla kirgan (she/her)

After practicing yoga for about four years, Mikayla decided it was time for her to further her practice. She received her RYT-200 at Yoga Centric in Bel Air, MD in May 2023. Through teaching Vinyasa yoga, she encourages her students to feel and use the fire within themselves! Her classes are filled with heart openers and she loves encouraging her students to explore new things about their bodies while continuing to grow!

Mikayla has always been a very adventurous and creative person, and feels as if yoga brings those traits out even more. She enjoyed sports and staying active throughout her childhood but needed to find something new. Yoga challenged her mentally and physically in such an amazing way that she instantly wanted to continue this practice. To this day, she uses all the tools that yoga provides, every day.

She believes that yoga saved her. Going through teacher training at just 21 years old was one of the greatest things she could have ever done. Having all these amazing tools at such a young age makes her feel ready to take on life. Yoga helped her enter adulthood and made her realize that she can control her own happiness.

Outside of the studio, she spends time with friends and family, watching football, and is a full-time student at Towson University.

adriane miller (she/her)

Adriane began practicing yoga and meditation as a teenager in Colorado during the 1970s. Active in skiing and mountain climbing, she found the calm strength she developed through yoga helped her navigate difficult physical and emotional demands. A skiing accident prevented her from pursuing her dream of becoming a yoga teacher as a young woman. But 40 years later, she completed her 200-hour certification from YogaWorks in 2013, and began her yoga teaching career in Bel Air. She received her 500-hour certification in 2015, after training with Joseph Le Page, founder of Integrative Yoga Therapy at Kripalu.

Adriane continues her discovery of the healing power of yoga through teaching and study of asana, pranayama and meditation. Her teaching vision is to guide students of any age and ability to the yoga practice that helps them develop flexibility and strength—in body, mind, and spirit—and accept life’s challenges with grace.

Recently retired from managing a team of environmental regulatory and legislative affairs specialists as a contractor for the U.S. Army, Adriane lives in Bel Air with her husband and two dogs.

She is continuing her yoga education at the Maryland University of Integrative Health, working towards a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy.

Jayme is a yoga teacher with Point of Light non-profit organization in Bel Air. She previously volunteered with the Connected Warriors Program, offering free yoga to Veterans, First Responders and their family members.

april newton (she/her)

April Newton is an ACE certified group fitness instructor who also holds yoga certifications from AAAI/ISMA and YogaFit.
April has been in the group fitness industry as a certified instructor for over 20 years, teaching everything from step aerobics to senior fitness to Zumba. Along the way she was introduced to yoga and became certified to teach, initially enjoying the challenge of the physical practice. Eventually she recognized the greater benefits beyond the asana and began pursuing her 200-hour certification with YogaFit. It was here that she was introduced to and fell in love with the YogaFit for Warriors program which explores the practice of yoga in the treatment of PTSD, trauma, and addiction recovery, as well as for anxiety and depression. In 2015, April received her 100-hour training certificate for the Warriors program, and in 2016 completed her 200-hour training with YogaFit. While she continues to love the physical challenge of practicing, April is continually amazed by what yoga can do for the mind and soul and its tremendous healing power.
April lives in Havre de Grace, MD with her husband, three children and a large mutt.

april plaisted (she/her)

April started her yoga journey in 1998 while she was living on the shores of La Jolla, CA and working as a middle and high school language arts teacher at UCSD. After years of teaching step, cardio, and conditioning classes, she was drawn to the quiet introspective side of yoga and the focus on linking body and breath. In 2014, after the birth of her third child, she decided to challenge herself by earning her 200-hour yoga certification, complementing her ACE, LesMills, and Drums Alive certifications.

April loves to keep things moving and challenging, usually teaching vinyasa, power, and sculpt classes set to motivating playlists everyone loves. She is also certified to teach Yoga on the Wall. In her spare time, she has ridden the C&O canal trail, hiked portions of the Appalachian trail, and enjoys visiting our National Parks to camp and explore.

morgan riley (she/her)

Morgan enjoys a rhythmic & playful approach to yoga with its foundation based in “Hatha” which focuses strongly on the connection of breath to movement. When she started practicing yoga in college it was an elective (and primarily a way to avoid any form of traditional strength training which she ironically now loves). Everything happens for a reason and what she discovered in that class was a growing appreciation for herself. The challenges we face on the mat, test our mind and the stories we tell ourselves. From that place, her life began to change. She realized that through the power of the breath & the philosophies shared within yoga, we can alter our state of being finding strength, resilience, compassion and love for ourselves and others. That kind of empowerment is what Morgan loves most about yoga and why she chooses to teach/share this practice; to help remind us of our greatness.

She received her E-RYT 200 certification back in 2009; furthering her studies she did an intensive Power Yoga training with Down Dog Yoga in Georgetown, MD and a Trauma Informed Yoga Intensive with Sol Yoga in Frederick, MD. The combination of these methodologies lends to a teaching style that invites us to challenge our perceived limitations so that we can become more of who we are meant to be. tell your story online can make all the difference.
